What can I say, the good Lord clearly needed one of the best people on Earth, so he selected Auntie Peggy to join her dear relatives in heaven. She was someone who always made you feel special because she cared about who you were and what was happening in your life, and regardless of the conversation topic, she would also always put a positive spin on that discussion so you left it with hope. We were always welcome at the Amato home and especially by Mrs. Amato. She was kind, fun and gentle. We will miss her.

I wish Peggy and I had more time to sit and reminisce about our families in Ireland and our own families here at home . In the past few years we tried to make up for lost time. Our recent visit here in Dennis was delightful and we promised many more. My heart goes out to her many family members. She will be sorely missed.

Auntie Peggy was one of the loveliest people I have ever known. It's true she had "the gift of gab" which she put to work as a telephone operator. Perhaps less obvious was her gift for listening. She was infinitely patient, lending a sympathetic ear to friends and family in need. She was always bright, positive and energetic and these attributes were contagious.
