Margaret Battin

It was my privilege to meet Margaret when John was on staff at Riverside (CA) Arlington Avenue. She was a delightful, Christian lady, now enjoying Heaven. God bless her family.

Aunt Margaret was so sweet to my mom, Helen, after Leroy passed away. Aunt Margaret was such an inspiration to my family. My son and daughter used to help her set up her classroom at Scotsdale Elementary. Now my daughter is an elementary teacher, my son is an Instructional Assistant in high school and I teach special education. I will miss her deeply.

I was sorry to hear of the passing of "Mom Calhoun." I may have known her while growing up on the New Mexico District, but I really came to appreciate her while we were at Pasadena College together. She exemplified Christ in a way that few others have during my Christian pilgrimage.

Margaret Calhoun was the dorm mom when I returned to Pasadena College (now PLNU) in 1961. She was such a joy. Everyone just loved her dearly. One night a big moth was flying around our room and my roommate, JoAnn, and I were running around the room swatting at it with a towel. Our dear dorm mom, making the rounds, heard all the commotion from the hallway and knocked on our door. How I will miss you Margaret. When people talked about whom they most wanted to pray for them, I always named you and my mother. May your family find blessed comfort in knowing how much you meant to so many people. My love and prayers are with the family.

My Life is forever changed after the Lord brought you into my life. Margaret you and your family have touched my heart so deeply and taught me so much about life and love. I will deeply miss you and the fun times we had in the past. Your notes of love and scripture with your prayers will always be a tresured part of my memories of you.
