I am profoundly saddened by the news of Professor Berger's passing. She was an amazing intellect and an even better teacher. She inspired me to work to the top of my ability and I was rewarded by her when she asked me to be her research assistant. It was an unbelievable honor bestowed by someone I truly admired.
