Margaret (Peggy) Reid Blatchford of Mill Valley, California passed away Saturday October 12th, 2013. Born in Yonkers, New York on December 6th, 1936, she attended The Masters School and Skidmore College. She moved to San Francisco in 1958 where she married her husband, J. David Blatchford. In 1977, she and her family moved to Madrid, Spain where they lived for five wonderful years experiencing the culture and traveling throughout Europe. She adored art, nature and children and dedicated her life to her community. Many organizations benefited from her tireless service including St. John's Episcopal Church, the Legion of Honor Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and the Family Service Agency of Marin. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, J. David Blatchford; her daughters Margot Piper and Katie Magner; her three grandchildren Sadie, Fletcher and Reid; and her dog Kipper. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Legion of Honor Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco or St. John's Episcopal Church Children's Choir. Services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ross, California on Friday October 18th at 4pm.

Peggy will be missed at the Family Store for all her volunteer work and her great smile, Love Lucky Lynda Sheehan

I have so many wonderful memories of growing up next to Peggy and family. Peggy's artistic ability with flowers, her many kindnesses and thoughtful gifts, her yummy baking, her never-ending craft projects, her warm singing and playing piano especially for us on Christmas, and her being available as a friend and neighbor -- all this and more made her so special and so loved. I just wish Claire would have had more years to spend with her so that she would have had these experiences as well. ...

Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this time.
