Margaret M. Bluth, a beloved wife, mother, educator, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, at the age of 94, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 9, 1930, in Modesto, California, Margaret grew up in San Francisco, where she developed a deep love for the city and its people.
Margaret was married to her devoted husband, John A. Bluth, for 51 wonderful years before his passing. Together, they shared a life full of love, laughter, and mutual support. Their bond was a testament to the strength of their relationship, and Margaret’s love for John never wavered, even after his passing.
A passionate educator, Margaret spent many years teaching Kindergarten through 3rd grade in the San Francisco Unified School District, which continued as a substitute teacher after she & her family moved to Mill Valley in 1961 being one of the first handful of houses built in their beloved Scott Valley community. After retirement she donated her time to an adult literacy program in Mill Valley, further sharing her love for education and making a difference in her community.
Margaret and John traveled the world together, with one of their most memorable trips being their 50th wedding anniversary celebration in Tahiti. After John's passing, upon advice from friends Margaret continued to travel, exploring new places and creating lasting memories.
Margaret had a wide range of passions, including photography, San Francisco Giants, cooking, gardening, and animals, especially a Rottweiler named Zeus. During her life, she found joy in capturing moments through her camera lens, nurturing plants, and preparing meals for those she loved.
Margaret survived by her sons, Mark Jon Bluth and Gregg Jon Bluth; her daughters-in-law, Virginia Bluth and Michelle Danzer; and her three grandchildren, Ross, Jack, and Sandy. She was preceded in death by her middle son, Brian Jon Bluth.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 3 Oakdale Avenue, Mill Valley, CA 94941on March 22nd @ 11am PT In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Vincent de Paul Society of Marin County (vinnies.org) or WildCare (discoverwildcare.org)
Margaret’s light will be dearly missed, but her memory and the enduring love she shared with her family, her community, and her beloved animals will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
