When SFMOMA was still situated on Van Ness Avenue, I was assigned as museum staff representative to accompany Margy on a group tour of Mexico. Somewhere in the archives is a photograph of she and I, sitting together atop the Temple of the Sun at Teotihuacan. We were always at near-polar opposite ends of the political spectrum, but our mutual dedication to visual art and artists began when we collaborated with many others to organize the 1978 SFMMA (as it was then known) Artists Soap Box Derby...

Margy was like a captivating book, and if this is indeed the last chapter, it is a fitting one, the kind that makes you want to begin reading her all over again.

Margy and I met at a party at the home of Ann Fisher in honor of Sanjay Arora and we became instant friends and subsequently traveled together for many years, first with SFMOMA and then with her company MBAT and then mine, ZSAT.
