Margaret Cline Obituary

Margaret Elizabeth Cline, of Boulder, CO, passed away on September 10, 2013 at the age of 98. She is formerly of Rose Hill, IA, Oskaloosa, IA and Lafayette, CO. Margaret was born July 27, 1915 in Rose Hill, IA to Joe and Nellie Grant Phillips Blake. She attended Rose Hill High School where she became Valedictorian. On February 24, 1934 she married Leonard R. Cline in Ottumwa, IA. They had three children, Larry, Terry and Sherri. Margaret had a variety of jobs including working as a clerk at Oskaloosa Coast to Coast Hardware, a chef at Big 7 Restaurant in Boulder, a cook at A&W in Lafayette but was most known for her 25 year commitment to child care to the many children in the Lafayette area. Her magic with children was well known. Margaret enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Boulder Trowel and Garden Club. She had received several awards for her flowers. Margaret was also an avid fan of all Colorado sports. Margaret is survived by her children, Larry Dale Cline (Linda), Terry Joe Cline and Sherri Elizabeth Crawford; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces and extended family sister Dorothy Hoyman. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard R. Cline and son James Leonard Cline. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2013, 10:00 am at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, CO. Interment will follow at 1 pm at Mountain View Cemetery in Boulder. A memorial service will be announced and held at a future date. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association. Crist Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
