Margaret, I miss you. You always had time for me. You were the best mother I ever had.

Memories of Margaret are deeply embedded and serve as an inspiration to this day. I first met Margaret in 1974 when I was applying for a teaching position in Orleans Parish Prison. At the time she was Director of Counseling in the Rehabilitation Department. To reach Margaret's office, I was first frisked by security, then guided through prison gates to the elevator.
