Margaret was one of those people, who never gave up on anyone or anything, I turned up one day at the YWCA (young womens christian association) where Margaret was in charge, she took me in although i was only 15 yrs of age (and you were meant to be at least 16)she gave me a home and was like a surrogate mother to all us girls, if it were not for Margaret I believe I would not be where Iam today, she saw the good in all of us and I am honoured to have known Margaret, may she now rest in peace.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

To Lou, your Dad, brother, Peck, Saul and Sonny we send our heartfelt sympathies at your tragic loss. In all the years i've known you Lou, your Mum was without a doubt also your closest femail friend and I remember with a smile the warmth that always accompanied the many times you spoke of her. With you and yours in your grief ,and know you will find solace in your abundent happy memories of an EXCEPTIONAL LADY.

we would like to offer our condolences to raymond, lawrence,&louise and all margarets family and friends also to eileen ,we enjoyed margarets stories and tales while we all enjoyed lourdes 2007. isabell&dawn

I'll always remember Margaret with fondness, I lived on Coronation Drive for a number of years before moving to Shetland, Margaret was always willing to stop for a chat, I used to see her every day as I passed by with my dogs. I missed her when she moved to the Castle, and didn't see her as much. I've thought about her often and was sorry to read in the Whitehaven News that she'd died.

so sadly missed by us all remembered for her kind caring ways and great sense of humour
