GRASSO, Margaret Entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 8, 2006, Margaret Mary "Peggy" Frantzen Grasso, widow of Frank E. Grasso, of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Peggy F. Grasso are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 15, 2006, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home 1620 Savannah Hwy on Thursday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. Peggy was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 6, 1919, the daughter of Maximillan and Sara Evans Frantzen and graduated from Villa Maria Academy in the Bronx. Before moving to Charleston she spent several years living on a private Island off the coast of Florida called Punta Blanca with her family. Peggy enjoyed painting and received a scholarship to attend art college but decided instead to go to work for American Airlines to help with the War effort. She enjoyed sailing, swimming and fishing. After her children were grown Peggy worked at Sears Roebuck as a sales associate for many years, became close to her co-workers and maintained those friendships through the years. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church. When she and her late husband retired they enjoyed taking trips in their RV around the country. Peggy was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by three children: Steve, John and Sallie Ann as well as her brothers: Buddy, Charlie and George. Surviving are her children: Penny G. O'Grady and her husband, Tom, and Frank Grasso of Charleston and four grandchildren: Steven, Becky and Chris Grasso, Thomas O'Grady; a sister-in-law: Lee Frantzen and numerous nieces and nephews..
