Read MoreYesterday, I went to an Art Gallery in Washington CT- and saw a painting. In reading the information about the painting- I saw that it was painted by Margaret Grimes- my painting professor at WCSU. I just sat. For a long while. I have such find memories of Margaret and John Wallace. They inspired me, encouraged me - as a single mom...through my cancer. My whole hearted condolences.

I'm so saddened to learn of Ms. Grimes passing. I remember her class vividly and still have the first landscape painting I ever did from an outdoor excursion to the westside campus...complete with her touch as she took my brush to show me a technique. I also remember talks in her office at WCSU fondly. My deepest condolences to her family as well as the art community. Until death is a thing of the past.

My deepest sympathies to her family and friends. I am a good friend of Margaret's brother Peter and was privileged to meet her and to view some of her gorgeous paintings and works in progress. They took my breath away. I'm very sorry for the loss she represents to the many people who love her.
