Not sure what to say?

Still remember Margaret fondly from our days together in Jackson NOW and was proud to work together advocating for women’s rights, What a brilliant, interesting and loving friend she was. I will never forget her.

Dear Flo, Lee and all the others close to Margaret,

As I reflect on losing my mother (Inez Buren) very suddenly last January, it makes me think that it must have been comforting for her the way she went with so many of you near her. I hope it was a precious time for you all as well. When I received word in Kazakhstan of my mom's passing it had been two years since I had last seen her.

Those last moments are something I think most families don't get to partake in. Sad as...

To the Hausler family: I have just learned of Margaret's passing and wanted to share how important she was to me. Margaret and I became friends through Jackson NOW in the 1970s and 1980s, but we stayed in touch throughout the years. When my youngest son Alex was adopted, his birth mother and her two daughters needed a place to live and they stayed in your home for more than a month. That act of kindness made Margaret and Lee honorary grandparents to my sons. Every year, she penned a...

Lee and family, I knew the moment we first spoke what a special person she was. Her caring, supportive and accepting grace was evident. I recall making a mental note to learn from her. You are a beautiful family and I feel lucky to have had a smidge of a view. If you are in the old neighborhood come by and visit. I am so thankful I was able to partake in the celebration of Margaret's life today.

Lee and family, I always knew she was special from the first time we spoke. Her spirit jumped out at me with her caring, supportive and accepting grace. I made a mental note to learn from her. I remember after the birth of my third son saying to her "what was god thinking" and she immediatley told me that she knew I was one who could raise 3 respectful and kind sons to make the world better. I hope she was right, I tried hard. She was an inspiration in so many ways and that will live with me...

I always thought Margaret was like a little bird, flitting around. She loved to talk and I always thought it was so much fun when she came for a visit or we went down there, because I knew I'd get caught up on all the family gossip ... who was doing what, with whom, where, stories about each of the kids and their kids, what she and Lee were up to ... well, just about everything. Honestly, you could sit for two hours just listening to her but at the end you knew everything about everyone...

To the Lee family,
I remember as if it were yesterday I was in the fourth grade walking home from St. Francis in Petoskey in the rain when your mother saw me. She took me in and made me wait for my dad to pick me up. He was car pooling with your father at the time from Big Rock. Thought I would share a nice memory. I wish your family peace.

Grandma,
I cherish every moment we spent together. You are truly the most inspiring person i have ever met.
You were an angel on earth. I miss you so much but you will always live on in my heart, every single day.

Dear Family,

Condolences to you all. I remember Mrs. Hausler as my best friend, Rosie's mother, when the family lived in Benton Harbor. Mrs. Hausler was an inspiration for my life every since I met her over 40 years ago. God Bless you all.

Sincerely,
Carol (Lacy) Jackson
