Not sure what to say?

Our deepest sympathies to Bill, Denny, Ricky and all their families at the loss of our dear friend of over 25 years, Ms. Lucy. We didn't know of her passing until today (12/16/11), when I found her obituary by accident on the citywire website. The memory of the wittiest, most kind, and hardest working woman we've ever know is forever etched in our hearts, may she finally be getting the rest she so deserves. Denny, so sorry to hear of the death of your mother. Please know you and the family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I'll remember Lucy as a warm and loving person. Also, a heck of a lot of fun. We had a blast growing up on old 271; the race track and the garbage routes. Fond memories! God be with you.

"Miss Lucy" was a small business owner that would not be defeated.....not by anyone or anything.....I thought 40 years ago that she was the greatest inspiration for a small businesss owner I had ever seen. I feel the same way today. We ALL Loved Lucy.

My thoughts and Prayers are with you all. I have not seen you all in a long time. I always thought of Lucy and Greg because I knew you two the best. Even to this day when I travel hwy 45 where the business was I think of you all and Lucy"s beautiful smile and kind voice.

Thank you for all you gave to Fort Smith and its citizens. You were a "first lady of the Fort" and represented the best of what people can be when they are totally dedicated to God, Family, Friends and their community. I did not get to know Lucy like I would have liked but am grateful that her grandson will soon be my neighbor and get to see how her legacy continues to live on.

My dear friend, Lucy, has changed her address from Ft. Smith to Heaven. She was a wonderful, generous, hard working, loving person. I have many memories to carry with me of her. I have known Lucy since before she started her business, Altus Sanitation. She worked at it like she did with her life, putting her all into it. She and I had in common, the love of our families. She loved you her sons with a love greater than for herself. Take comfort in knowing she's gone before you but will...

Lucy lives on in my memories.

I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU - LUCY - YOUR FRIENDSHIP HAS MEANT SO MUCH TO ME OVER THE YEARS - YOU WERE THERE FOR ME DURING THE ROUGH PATCHES IN MY LIFE. MY PRAYERS ARE FOR YOUR FAMILY - HELEN OGLE
