She was born in Ansonia on March 19, 1920, daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Fusti) Tramontana. The devoted matriarch of her family, Margaret spent many happy hours cooking homemade Italian meals for family and friends, and telling family stories. Her late dog Rusty was the apple of her eye and she loved taking him for walks. She worked at H.C. Cook Company in Ansonia and National School Studios in Derby for many years. Following her retirement, she enjoyed her time working as a lunch aide at Prendergast School in Ansonia, where she was affectionately known as Ms. M.

Margaret is survived by her two loving daughters, Margaret Izokaitis, and Patricia Thomas and her husband Michael Thomas, all of Ansonia; four grandchildren, Michael Thomas and his wife Christine of Bethany, Paula Bergen of Ansonia, Brian Thomas and his partner Bill Sutay of Trumbull, and Paul Izokaitis and his wife Mandy of Beacon Falls; along with four great grandchildren, Felicia and Ashley Thomas, Ryan Bergen and Kaylee Izokaitis. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph Jr., Victor, Albert and Eric Tramontana; her sisters, Phyllis Pogozelski, Josephine Osiecki and Jean Cavagnuolo; and her great grandson, Justin Bergen. Margaret’s family would like to thank the staff at Bishop Wicke Health Center for their extraordinary care and dedication.

I remember Marge with great fondness. As an administrator at Prendergast School in the late 80’s and early 90’s, I had the privilege of working with Marge who was a lunch aide during that time period. She was such a breath of fresh air. You could always count on Marge to bring a round of laughter to recharge our batteries with a joke or funny quip. Rest In Peace in God’s arms my...
