Margaret "Dear" Stallworth McDaniel, 93, was born on June 18, 1927, a native of Thomasville, Alabama and resident of Prichard, Alabama for over 70 years, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest at her home on August 3, 2020 surrounded by her loving and caring family. Dear is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Herman McDaniel, Sr. Three children: Mary Pearl McDaniel, Mattie Wheeler, and Herman McDaniel, Jr. Parents: Richard and Pearl Stallworth; Mother-in-law, Mattie Morrisette Bettis, Six brothers: "Little Richard", Willie Joe, Holton, Walter, Arthur, and Ben Stallworth; three Sisters: Carrie "Sister" Carlton, Roberta Holman, and Amanda (Frank) Hickenbottom Dear was a true and faithful believer of Christianity and devoted her life to God; she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour. She was a member of the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the Usher Board over 50 years and worked in the Mission Department until her health declined. She served under the leadership of Rev. Richard York, Rev. J.C. S. Dials, Rev. J. C. Richardson, and presently Rev. Timothy O. Hale. Dear grew up in a family of 10 and was an amazing mother of 12, always in the presence of family. When difficulties arose, prayer was her solution. She stressed the importance of Sunday School, Baptist Training Union, and Church Service. Blessing the food, and prayer before bed was done everyday. She taught her children, faithfully to do the right thing, to stay strong, to always support each other, and to exercise their right to vote. She firmly believed: "A family that prays together, stays together." Dear is survived by her loving children. Four sons: Rev. Richard McDaniel, Arnett (Lorraine) McDaniel, George "June-Boy" McDaniel, and Larry McDaniel; Five daughters: Roberta (Freddy) Engine, Janice McDaniel, Shirley Purifoy, Patricia Young, and Lois (Michael) Curry all of Prichard and Mobile, Alabama. 1 (one) God son, Henry (Gloria) Williams; 32 grandchildren , 58 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A visitation will be held from 9am until 11am Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Mobile Sunlight District Auditorium, 809 Seminary Street, Prichard, AL.
