Dover – Margaret Menounos, 89, died Tuesday September 28, 2010 at St. Ann Healthcare Center.

Born in Dover July 19, 1921 the daughter of Kaleel and Martha (Dowaliby) George, attended St. Mary Grammar & High School and has lived here all of her lifetime.

She worked for many years at the former Poultry Shop in Dover and had been a buyer for the children’s department of the former Morton’s Store.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude for the excellent care given Margaret by the staff at St. Ann’s.

She was a former member of the Daughters of St. George and was a communicant of St. Mary Church.

She is survived by a daughter Mary “Fuzzy” Kemen and husband Ludwig of York, ME, a son Peter H. Menounos, Jr. and wife Kathleen A. of Dover, four grandchildren Greg Menounos and wife Ellen of Watertown, MA, Chris Menounos of Seabrook, Brian Menounos and wife Kimberly of Prince George, BC, Canada and Kristen Murphy and husband Ryan of York, ME, five great grandchildren Fiona and Madigan Murphy, Nathan Menounos, Orrin Menounos and Martha Anne Menounos as well as nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Peter H. Menounos, Sr., brothers Edward George and Charles George, and sister Eugenie Bstandig

Friends may call Friday Oct. 1st from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Chapel at St. Ann Home, 195 Dover Point Rd. Burial will follow in St. Mary New Cemetery.

Family flowers only and memorials in her name may be made to St. Ann Healthcare Center, 195 Dover Point Rd., Dover, NH 03820.

I offer my deepest sympathy to you Fuzzy and to your family for the death of your sweetheart Mom. She is a lady , I enjoyed her company a lot, I feel honoured to have met her. I am sorry for not being able to attend the Funeral Mass because I am on vacation visiting my parents in Beirut - Lebanon.

Margaret was so special to us. We were very lucky to have a such a loving neighbor, and to have her welcome us with open arms. She is missed. Sorry for your loss.

Words are not enough to express my sadness at this time. Margaret was more than a friend - she was family to me as well as Lisa & Michael.
