Not sure what to say?

My sincere condolences to Catherine and Nicholas and the Mesirow families, with apologies for my delayed posting on this site. I had the significant good fortune to meet David and Margaret in the Fall of 1969, by doing my student teaching at the opening of John Adams HS. Dave was my mentor teacher, and after the closing of Adams, we later taught together at the then Portland Night School until the Spring of 1999. Those wonderful years were made even more so with the continued friendship...

I met David and Margaret years ago as I was a letter carrier in Irvington. I delivered their mail for over 15 years. I truly enjoyed my frequent conversations with your parents. Margaret was always pleasant, positive and had that beautiful smile. She also had the most beautiful handwriting! It was an honor to know your parents.

Margaret's smile was part of what made showing up for Exercise class at Lloyd Athletic Center worthwhile. She was a cheerful friend to all of us & she will certainly be missed!!

I will never forget Margaret’s smiling face as we raised our children a few blocks from each other in Irvington - she was so kind & extraordinarily patient. As a role model for us other parents, she was tops. To her children, I’m sending hugs and counting on you to remind your own young family people to share that caring attitude of their grandma Margaret.

I first met Margaret when she and David brought dinner to us with the arrival of our first child in July of 1967. David was my late husband Dick's Master Teacher at Marshall High School. That began a long friendship between us and our children with many celebrations over the years. Margaret's engaging smile and warm personality made her an easy friend to spend time with. Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void for all in our family. Nathelle (Thel) Togni
