Margaret Varnadore Pierce

Margaret Varnadore Pierce, 81 of Rockwell, born on January 2, 1928 in Rowan County to the late Adam Mack Varnadore and Elizabeth Trexler Varnadore passed away peacefully on April 25, 2009. Margaret's husband James C. Pierce passed away on November 11, 1998. She has 4 surviving children; James C. (Butch) Pierce and wife Joyce of Stokesdale, Ronald M. Pierce and wife Betty of Salisbury, Mrs. Debbie P Kistler and husband Gary of Supply and Mrs. Angela P. Dyer and husband Tracy of Rockwell. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and one sister; Elizabeth V. Ritchie of China Grove. Mrs. Pierce was a graduate of Rockwell High School, she was a homemaker who loved her church, St. Peter's Lutheran Church, and Margaret cleaned the church for 34 years. She also loved to work in her flowers and garden. She was a devoted mother, and her pride and joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many thanks to friends, family and especially Hospice. Our dear mother and grandmother is now with our Heavenly Father. Services: The funeral will be held on Tuesday April 28 at 3 pm at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor David Ridenhour. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and at the home of the daughter Angela Dyer the remainder of the time.
