Margaret Rose Moynihan Ryan, age 85, passed away peacefully May 15, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born and raised in Holyoke. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Margaret was employed with South Hadley Schools Cafeteria, Falls Nursing Home and Holyoke Geriatric Center. She volunteered many hours at the South Hadley Council on Aging where she crocheted baby blankets for the premature babies at the surrounding hospitals and scarves for all those she held dear to her heart. One of her best moments was making the birthday calls to all the local seniors to which she always included herself. Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her family and instilling upon us her strong values and true family love. She is survived by oldest son, William and Lori Ryan from Florida, her daughter Donna Ryan Long from North Carolina, and her youngest son, Robert and Migdalia Ryan from South Hadley; five grandchildren, Tanya Ryan Patruno (Amber), Robert Ryan Jr. (Amanda), Katelyn Long (Sam), Emily Cooper (Alan), and William Long; six great grandchildren Ryan Sue, Sophie, Avery, Brantley, Jesse, Remy, along with another great granddaughter due in September. She was predeceased by her brother William Francis Moynihan. She leaves to cherish several cousins and many friends. Visitation will be at O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley on Friday May 19, 2023 from 4:00-7:00pm with a graveside service at St. Jerome Cemetery on Saturday May 20, 2023 at 11:45 am.
