Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to learn about Margaret's death. When we lived in Hampton our family Freddie J. Hicks, Jr., (deceased) Carlton and Dawn and myself spent many weekends together with Margaret and Michael. Arvis and Dawn were just little ones and they were favorite playmates of Carlton and Dawn. Margaret would always braid Dawn's hair for me because I never could master a good braid. She was fun loving and always ready for an adventure. Please extend my condolences to your entire family.

To the Sills-Carter family,
I first met Margaret when I was a very young 23 and teaching at Walter Reed Elementary School. She was very kind, helpful and friendly to me, one of three white people in the entire school. It is now 40 years later and I have probably seen her only a handful of times over the years, but I will always treasure the friendship she extended to me. May the memories of your wife and mother comfort you now.

Mrs. Sills was my sons favorite teacher. She had such a heart for children and seemed to know their needs. She will be missed. Our love and prayers are with the family now. Thank you Mrs. Sills for a job well done!

We send you the deepest sympathy and our sincere prayers during this time of loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Margaret many years ago and enjoyed her joyful nature. May you find peace in knowing others care.

Kenny, Arvis and Dawn,

I have to be honest with you -- during a time like this, even though my shepherd says I shall not want, "I find myself wanting." "I find myself wanting the friendship of the one who's gone." Your wife, mother and my friend will be greatly missed but the memories will be cherished forever because they are priceless.

Kenny, Arvis and Dawn, may those beautiful memories of your wife and mother bring you comfort in the time of sorrow. Margaret was loved by many and will be missed by all. I regret not having the opportunity to get to know her better after she married Kenny, who is my brother. I am happy to have the memories of our High School Days. May peace and happiness come to you in the future.

I became acquainted with Margaret when I joined Twentieth Century Women's Club. I remember her as a very expressive person with a great sense of humor. I wish to express my heart felt sympathy to each family member. You are in my prayers.

Arvis,Dawn and Kenny, I am so sorry to hear of the death of Margaret. I hold fond memories of her and our good times in Buckroe, she was a strong as well as a loving woman and our family loved her so much. Keep strong, I know she's happy now and smiling down on all of us. Connie Brown
