Margaret Stetson

Margaret Stetson, 93, of Pheasant Lane in Peterborough died Wednesday February 2, 2005 at the Harborside Healthcare - Pheasantwood Healthcare Center in Peterborough after a period of failing health.

She was born on January 7, 1912 in Reading, VT, daughter of the late Hewitt Marshall and Ethel Mae Cady. She attended Reading High School in Reading,VT, Kimball Union Academy in Meredith, NH and Heaton Nursing School in New York City.

Mrs. Stetson had worked as a private duty nurse in the Peterborough area for many years. She had also worked at the Hanover Inn and retired from the Woodbound Inn in Rindge in 1987.

She loved flower gardens, collecting bells, reading, and making puzzles.

She was predeceased by her husband Ernest Orrmand Stetson on May 28, 1981, and 2 sons, Fred Stetson on June 6, 1987 and Howard Stetson in November 21, 1999.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Ethel Stetson of Antrim, NH and Janice Frost of Jaffrey, NH; a son Dale Stetson and his wife Victoria of Houston, TX, 16 Grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many cousins and close friends.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will take place in the spring at Upper Pine Hill Cemetery in Peterborough and will be announced later.

The Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Jaffrey is assisting with arrangements.
