Margaret “Peg/Peggy” Stollsteimer (nee Broughton), 87, from Media/Middletown Twp, PA passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side holding her hand on June 12, 2024.
Peg was born June 11,1937 in Upper Darby, PA. At the age of 13, she moved with her parents and siblings to live briefly in Colorado (which she always remembered this time fondly) before returning to Cardington (Upper Darby), PA. She enjoyed hanging with friends and met her high school sweetheart and lifelong dance partner, William Stollsteimer (Bill/Bubba), before graduating from Upper Darby High School in 1955. Peg and Bill married in 1957 and settled in Media/Middletown Twp, PA., where she worked at Systems Control Associates, Inc. (formerly Stallings Electrical Engineers) while raising their four sons.
Peg was known for her cooking and always offered you something to eat when you stopped by. Her family has too many “favorites” to mention, however, she is most famous for her pineapple upside down cake! Whether Peg was hosting a family dinner, birthday celebration, the holidays or vacationing in Seaside Park, NJ, she was happiest when surrounded by her family. Upon retiring, Peg and Bill spent their time between Cocoa Beach, FL and their home in Media/Middletown Twp, PA, for several years before returning home permanently. Home was Peg’s happy place. She enjoyed her remaining years doting on her family and going on daily walks with her loving husband, walking hand and hand, always smiling!
Loved fiercely by her “boys” and their spouses, William (Jean), Steven, Christopher (Beverly), Douglas (Elizabeth); her six grandchildren, Faith (Michael), Jennifer (Paul), Brittany, Nicolas, Hope and Liam, and six great-grandchildren, Hanna, Zachary, Sara, Tyler, Tanner and Taylor.
Memorial service will be held at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E 4th St, Media, PA 19063 on Saturday August 3, 2024. Visitation 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Margaret's name to a cause of your choice.
