URCIUOLI--Margaret Jane
"Maggie." Maggie Urciuoli, 73, succumbed on September 19, 2015, after a long battle with multiple myeloma. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, J. Arthur ("Archie") Urciuoli, their children, Caryn Sloan Jacoby and her husband R.J. Jacoby, of Greenwich, CT, and Christian J.A. Urciuoli, and his wife Rebecca Jones Urciuoli, of New York City, and grandchildren Jackson, Sloan and Maggie Jacoby, and Jane and Nina Urciuoli. Born on March 8, 1942, the daughter of Matthew A. Forelli and the former Ethel Jane Sloan, Maggie was raised in Old Greenwich, CT, and was a Choate Rosemary Hall, Garland Junior College, and Boston University Fine Arts graduate. She was "Moopsie" as a child, "Maggie" most of her life, and "Nanni" to her beloved grandchildren. She was an artist, artisan and avid golfer. As a young woman, she was a well-known painter in oils. With partner Bobbie Schoonmaker, she founded and ran Small Ideas, a producer of fine antique furniture reproductions in miniature, for almost 20 years. As a hobby, she produced exquisite handmade Nantucket baskets. She served on the Board of Trustees of Choate Rosemary Hall and the board of the Casey Key Library. She was an active supporter of the Casey Key Association and of Girls Inc. of Sarasota County, and was a member of the Oaks, Ritz-Carlton, and Silvermine (Connecticut) golf clubs. Maggie and Archie moved to Casey Key, FL, in 1999, and spent their summers in Rowayton, CT. They previously lived in New York City, Paris, and Greenwich, CT. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am at the Ewing Chapel in Venice, FL on November 10, and at the First Congregational Church in Old Greenwich, CT on November 23. Donations may be made in Maggie's memory to Girls Inc. of Sarasota County.

Some times you are lucky enough to know someone in your life who has the ability to bring joy and happiness to others with their presence. Maggi did so for me and our class, together a Rosemary Hall. I miss you Maggi! XOXO Sterett

Maggie was one of the first women I met when I joined the Oaks. She was warm, funny and a joy to play golf with. I am so sad to her of her passing. My condolences to her family. She was truly a class act!

Sometimes meeting someone once can leave you with wonderful memories. Such was Maggie with me. We met briefly at a Monoposto party then when leaving I saw her reading a book on her own in the car. There ensued a lovely and memorable chat between the two of us. I always hoped to renew that brief friendship but never did. Archie - you have my heartfelt sympathies on losing such a lovely lady so soon.
