Woodfin Funeral Chapel - Smyrna Obituary

MARGARET M. ?PEGGY? VAUGHT, of Lascassas, died April 2, 2013. A native of Lascassas, TN, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Lena Fitzpatrick Martin. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 AM at Lascassas Baptist Church with Reverends David Turner, Don McMurry and Kenneth Summey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Vaught is survived by sons, Bill McBroom (Lynne), of Lascassas, Mike Vaught (Lynn), of Lascassas, and Stan Vaught (Terri) of Milton; daughter Janie Rakes (Jerry) of Triune; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and dear friend Eleanor Winn Seat. Mrs. Vaught was preceded in death by her husbands, the late J.W. McBroom and Melvin Vaught, and brothers Ben and Bill Martin.

Mrs. Vaught was a graduate of Lascassas High School and attended The Tennessee College for Women. She was a member of Lascassas Baptist Church, The Women?s Club, and was retired Postmaster of Lascassas with forty years service.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the U. S. Post Office gang and her Murfreesboro travel buddies.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lascassas Baptist Church Pre-school, 4750 E. Jefferson Pike, Lasscassas, TN 37085.
