MARTHA AND FAMILY, I knew Martha briefly through the League of Women Voters Minneapolis (LWVMpls). I remember when she was the featured participated along with Margaret Ueland in the 75th anniverary of the LWVMpls at the Hennepin County plaza in 1994. I clearly remeber her story of her trip back form Oberlin to vote in her first election when she turned 21 shortly after women were first allowed to vote. She was an inspriation. Dear Platt family, Our condolences on the death of dear Martha Rugh Platt. I have always admired her dedication to human rights and good government. She has been a formidable leader in these public arenas as well as a staunch fan of all of you.

We were saddened to learn of Martha's death. Fond memories of her birthday party still remain, but there are so many going back nearly 40 years. Martha was kind enough to sponsor our wedding reception at the Women's club in 1983. She was an extraordinary person whose contributions to the world and to our community are only partly recounted in the newspaper piece.
