Margaret F. Walker BEDFORD, MA - Margaret Ficken Walker, age 96, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, July 31, 2011, in Bedford, Massachusetts. Mrs. Walker was born in Charleston, South Carolina on April 6, 1915, the daughter of the late Henry Horlbeck Ficken and Julia Ball Ficken. She attended Ashley Hall until she left to attend Saint Mary's School. Mrs. Walker was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Jack Tillar Walker, her sisters, Katharine (Polly) Ficken Marron and Loti Ficken Chisolm, and a daughter, Jacqueline Walker Dunbar of Charleston, SC. She is survived by three children: Henry Walker (Connie) of Rock Hill, SC, Tom Walker (Katy) of Lincoln, Massachusetts, and Margot Walker of Stratham, New Hampshire and eleven grandchildren: Julia Conner Stedman of Charlotte, North Carolina, Sallie Conner Lesemann of Charlottesville, Virginia, James Conner of Nashville, Tennessee, Elizabeth Walker Rabjohns of Fairport, New York, John Ficken Walker of Pittsford, NY, Susan Chalfant Walker of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Sam, Hilary, and Louisa Walker of Lincoln, Massachusetts, and Hannah and Savy Walker of Stratham, New Hampshire; and eight great grandchildren Margaret will be missed dearly by all who loved her. Funeral services will be private.
