She and her husband were involved in Sacred Heart's first Financial Committee, which raised funds for the construction of the new chapel. Margarita was accomplished in fine needle stitchery. Margarita was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Adalberto Aponte, in 2012; her parents, Bernardo and Evangelia (née Colon) Alvarado; brother, Algio Alvarado; and a sister, Rosa Maria Alvarado.
Her family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio.

Not sure what to say?

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. (Isaiah 61:1, 2)

My comfort at letting you go the night you went to heaven was that you'd be with Papi in the presence of God. Even so, I think of you often and miss you both. I cherish the thought that the day will come when we'll meet again.
Zulma

Margarita was an integral part of Sacred Heart Chapel. I am sure that the same way she touched the lives of those in our Parish she touched those around her and in her family. We would like to extend our condolences to her family and let them know that we are hurting as we have also lost a member of our family. She will be deeply missed. May she rest in the arms of the Lord.
