Margery M. Bean

Margery M. Bean, age 82, of Council Bluffs, passed away at her home on July 8, 2008.

She was born on March 6, 1926, in Albert City, Iowa to Julius and Alma (Richardson) Lofquist. A resident of Council Bluffs since 1960, she was a homemaker and an avid volunteer serving more than 25 years with Mercy Hospital Volunteers.

Margery is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Steven Lofquist.

She is survived by her husband of more than 61 years, Ralph Bean; daughters, Gloria and her husband Garth of Merrimack, N.H., Angela and her husband Chad of Sioux City, Iowa; sons, Gary Bean of Raleigh, N.C., Greg and his wife Sally Bean of Fayetteville, N.C.; grandchildren, Melanie, Allison, Natalie, Valerie and David; sister, Rosalie and her husband James Day of Loveland, Colo.; brother, Loren and his wife Joyce of Longmont, Colo.; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation with the family is Friday 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Service is Saturday 10:00 a.m., at Broadway United Methodist Church, Rev. Marvin Arnpriester officiating. Graveside service is Saturday 4:00 p.m., Laurens City Cemetery, Laurens, Iowa.
