Margie Ree Cook

Services for Margie Ree Cook, 77, will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday at St. John CME Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Friday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. John CME Sunday School, 1404 Summerland Avenue Leesville, SC 29070 or to Special Olympics SC, 1276 Assembly St. Columbia, SC 29201. Ms. Cook passed away Monday January 31, 2011. Born in Leesville, she was the daughter of the late Lindsey and Geneva Creed Cook. She was a member of St. John CME Church, was an avid Sunday School Scholar, a member of the Adult SS Class and the Missionary Society, a former Church Secretary, SS Superintendent, Secretary and Treasurer, and a former member of the Steward Board. Surviving are daughters, Deborah Cook Jacobs (Stanley) of Hopkins, Melissa D. Cook of Leesville, sons, Marcus and Maurice "Fuji" Cook of Leesville, sisters, Ruth Cannon and Kathleen Bowers (Henry) of Leesville, Elvira Cannon (Ollie Ray) of North Augusta, sisters-in-law, Lillie W. Cook of Leesville and Gertrude Cook of Aiken, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
