Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Margie Gehm (née Walter), born March 1, 1930, in St. Louis, entered into rest on December 10, 2025 at the age of 95. She was the cherished daughter of Christine Pauline Walter (née Sprenger) and Albert Louis Walter.

Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Eugene Glennon Gehm. Their enduring partnership was a testament to love, faith, and committment shared over a lifetime. She is also reunited in Christ with her sisters, Elinor and Verna, and her brothers, Albert Jr., Bill, and Glen, all of whom she held close in her heart.

Devoted mother to Steven (LuAnn) Gehm, Jimmy (Rachel) Gehm, and David (Stacy) Gehm; proud grandmother of Chandler, Kelbie, Mike, Matt, Julia, Elijah, and Olivia; blessed great-grandmother of Hewitt, McCoy, and Nolan; and loving sister to her dear brother Dale Walter. Margie touched the lives of numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends, and customers who will forever cherish her warmth, humor, prayers, and generous spirit.

Margie’s unwavering love for Christ, combined with her deep commitment to the health and well-being of those around her, guided her daily life. She devoted herself to making positive, lasting changes, and her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched through her ministries of faith and wellness.

Her signature phrases, “I love you, but Jesus loves you more!” and “Psalm 34:8”, graced the many cards, newsletters, books, bookmarks, and other heartfelt tokens she shared. Each one reflected her joyful, unapologetic love of the Lord.

May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

Not sure what to say?

Margie was one of the best. A friend since our St. Jacobi days, she was also a good and faithful friend to my sister-in-law, Bev. She was always so positive and encouraging. Heaven’s gain!

Jimmy & Family, I am so sorry for your loss, but rejoice with you that she’s with her Lord and Savior, Jesus. Her love for the Lord, her husband & sons was the guiding light as she served those around her. I can remember her almost singing out as she answered the phone, “Good morning, God loves you!” from the Gehm home in Jennings. I am sorry I didn’t hear of her passing in time to give my condolences in person. I know she left a lifetime of joyful love and memories for you all to share &...

I have known Margie from north St Louis to Gray Summit. The Gehms lived a mile or two from us in north county. We moved to Gray Summit and Margie and Gene moved in fives houses down. Having served on River Roads Lutheran School board together was a blast. Marilyn and I truly loved both of them. Gene and I spent many a day shooting the breeze in my garage. To the Gehm kids, especially Jimmy and David ,I say (we) my family,we’re glad to call your parents our friends. May God bless Margie and...

A great lady who walked the talk. Her faith always shone through in whatever she did. Although she will be missed by many we rejoice that she is home with Jesus! She left her family a great legacy.
