I remember Dori being born, and she and her husband would bring the baby to Uncle John´s where I waitressed to put myself through school. My condolences to the family!

When we landed in Australia 35 years ago, Margo, having arrived only a month before, graciously served as our hostess and indispensable guide. Later, in the middle of the night, she took a cab to our apartment, holding the cab for us to rush to the hospital to deliver our third-born with just an hour to spare! Margo was a wonderful friend to us and so many others.

I both mourn and celebrate with all of you. Margo was a true friend and mentor to so many, including me.
In 1996 I wrote on the dedication page of my master's thesis, I dedicate my thesis to Margo Akerman for providing such a wonderful role model to all who view our program. She is a positive witness to the responsibility to and appreciation of the silent heroes - the givers of the gifts of life.'
