Maria Koegel Bauer, passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on August 11th, 2025 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born on July 1st, 1924, in Walldorf, Germany, Maria was the first born of five children to the family of George and Katherine Krauss Koegel.
Her life was marked by her dedication to her family, with some of her greatest joys found in her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother.
As a faithful member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for 80 years, her deep faith served as a beacon that guided her throughout her life in times of both joy and sorrow.
Maria lived a full, rich life. She enjoyed gardening and sewing but was well known by many and remembered for her beautiful voice and skill as a painter. Maria leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience that will continue to inspire and uplift her loved ones for generations to come.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband of 60 years Glen Bauer, and her cherished son Michael Bauer, brothers Fred Koegel and Ewald Koegel. Each of these losses marked a chapter in her life, yet her strength and spirit remained unbroken, a testament to her unwavering courage and fortitude.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Regina Gabel of Fayetteville, Monica Jacobs and husband Gregg of Arlington, TX, Christina Breshers and husband Chris of Stuttgart, Arkansas. Maria's six grandchildren; Erica Hanna, Jennifer McClure, Jessica Martin, Austin Jacob, Michael Breshers, Ashley Jacob and great grandchildren, Katie McClure, Wilson McClure, John Hanna, Leighanne Hanna were the apples of her eye, each one holding a special place in her heart.
