It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend, MARIA MOLINA LEDESMA DE LUNA, age 81, of Tortugas on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 23, 1941, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico to Ramona Ledesma and Antonio Molina. Maria worked at Stahmann Farms and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include her only daughter, Frances Luna (Jaime Alonzo) of Tortugas; 4 sons, Paco Luna also of Tortugas, Miguel Luna (Diana) of Las Cruces, Antonio “Tony” Luna (Ofelia) of La Mesa and Jaime Luna (Elaine) of Las Cruces; a brother, Jesus Jose Molina (Manuela) of Brazito and 3 sisters, Manuela Rodriguez of La Mesa, Guadalupe Rivera of Las Cruces and Maria Caraveo of Phoenix, AZ. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren, Dolores, Jaime Jr., and Samuel Silva, Kelsey Luna, Katherine and Omar Luna, Anthony, and Christopher Luna, Jalyca Rosas and Isabella Luna: 8 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cristobal Luna in 2001; 3 sisters, Luz Elva Molina, Aurora Gallegos, and Soledad Mariscal; and her brother, Jesus Maria Garcia.
Visitation will begin at 9 AM Thursday, June 29, 2023 at The Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 3600 Parroquia Street in Tortugas with the Prayer Vigil at 9:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter with the Reverend Valentine Jankowski Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Tortugas Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband in the family plot.
Serving as casket bearers will be her grandchildren.
