Corridan Funeral Home - Chicopee Obituary

Chicopee- Maria Beatriz (Candido) DosSantos, 89, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, with her family by her side.  Born in Turquel, Alcobaca, Portugal on August 25, 1936, Maria was the daughter of the late Adriano Candido and Beatriz Maria Luis.  In 1974, Maria, her husband Jose, and their children immigrated to the United States and settled in Chicopee.  She worked as a seamstress for Chicopee Undergarment and as a meat packer for Chicopee Provision.  Maria was a faithful communicant of the former Holy Name Church in Chicopee, where she would visit the chapel and pray the rosary every week.  She also loved tending to the flowers in her garden, and most importantly, getting together with her family and cooking for everyone.  Maria is survived by her children, Martinho DosSantos, Dario DosSantos and his fiancé, Denise Arias, Saul DosSantos, and Adelia Winters and her husband, John, four grandchildren, Deanna, Andrew, Sydney, and Kaelynn, one great-grandchild, Nova, as well as many cousins, extended family, and friends.  In addition to her parents, Maria was predeceased by her husband, Jose, in December of 2024, and by her sister, Trindade.  The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Agawam North Health & Rehab, for the care they gave to Maria during the time she spent with them.  Funeral services for maria will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee, MA.  Calling hours will take place from 9:00 to 10:45am at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at Ste. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St., Chicopee, MA at 11:30am, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Chicopee.
