Baca's Funeral Chapels - Las Cruces Obituary

MARIA ANAYA ESPINOZA, lifelong resident entered eternal life Monday, May 2, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 12, 1933 in Fabens, Texas to Jose Refugio and Eutima Levario Anaya. She was a devoted Catholic member at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and enjoyed spending time, volunteering at other church functions around the community. She was a stay-at-home wife and was a very special lady to all who knew her. Maria loved to be with her family and enjoyed every minute of her house being full. Her door was always open and there was always fresh food, tortillas, and coffee waiting for whoever came over to visit. Her sense of humor will be missed dearly but it will continue to live on in all her family and the cherished memories they have of her. Survivors include her four children: Johnny Espinoza (partner- Anna), Lupe Marquez (partner- Patricio), Gilbert A. Espinoza (spouse- Chris), Benny Espinoza (spouse- Laura) all of Las Cruces. Other survivors include 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Santiago Anaya of Phoenix, AZ; and sisters Juana Cereceres of Phoenix, AZ and Lucy Rigales of Las Cruces. She is preceded in death by her husband Florencio Espinoza; her parents Jose Refugio and Eutima Levario Anaya; 5 brothers Lorenzo, Salome, Nico, Lenchito, and Jose Anaya and a sister Josefina Gonzales. Visitation for Mrs. Espinoza will begin at 6 PM Friday, May 20, 2022 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road where Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated immediately thereafter. Graveside Service will be at 9 AM Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho Avenue where she will be laid to rest in the family plot. Serving as casket bearers are Jonathan Espinoza, Mario Marquez, Jacob Espinoza, Adam Torres, Boy Sicre, and Ryan Garcia. Not sure what to say?

Our sincere condolences to the family of Maria. I remember her always laughing when I was little. RIP Maria.

Thinking of all of you with lots of love and prayers.

My aunt Marie was full of life and enjoyed her family. I remember her awesome beans and Tortillas homemade. She always had a smile and always had family and friends she would open her home to anyone one and was always warm and friendly.. She will be missed. I love the warm feeling you would get when you were in her home. You will be missed Aunt Marie but I know you are in a better place. Love you

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. My condolences to your family. May she rest in eternal peace. Sincerely, Lisa and Ken Vandermeulen (Lori's friends)

So sorry for your loss sending prayers for healing

Our hearts ache so much to know that you're no longer with us! 50 years ago you welcomed me into your life when I met your son and then married him (my neighbor). These past 50 years have been the best because I couldn't of asked for a better Mother In Law like you! The memories you left still go thru our minds and will forever be with us❣ Thank you for being a "Special" part of my life and for raising a Good son that's going to miss his "chumalus"... Gilbert's knickname .
We Love...

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
