Maria Gauthier

Maria Gauthier, 83, of Wethersfield, CT beloved wife of the late Constantin Petrosan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Hartford Hospital. Maria was born in Romania and was the daughter of the late Ion and Ana (Persoiu) Blaju. 

Maria had a deep love for cooking, baking, and exploring new places. Her warmth and creativity shone through in the meals she prepared and the adventures she embraced. Originally from Romania, Maria moved to the United States in 1996 in pursuit of new opportunities and a better life. Before her journey to the U.S., she worked as a florist in Romania, where her eye for beauty and detail brought joy to many. Her vibrant spirit, generous heart, and love for life will be remembered by all who knew her.

Maria is survived by her two sons Marius Petrosan and his wife Monica and Catalin Petrosan, her two brothers Ioan and Virgil, her four sisters Victoria, Ana, Valeria, and Cornelia, her four granddaughters Andreia Talarico, Cristina Muntean, Adina Petrosan and Madalina Petrosan, and three great-grandchildren Chase, Charlotte and Cole Talarico. Maria is predeceased by her brothers Gheorghe, Petru, and Aurel, her sister Elena, and her daughter-in-law Simona Petrosan.

Funeral service for Maria will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10am at Holy Transfiguration Romanian Orthodox Church, 2 Winter St., Manchester, CT. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Relatives and friends may call at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, CT Friday from 5pm to 8pm.
