Maria (Volpi) Kilian, 82, of Newington died on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 in New Britain. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanislaw Kilian. Born in Italy, she lived in Argentina for 17 years before moving to Newington 40 years ago and was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Holy Spirit Church. Maria owned and operated Maria�s Catering for many years. Survivors include her son Michael Kilian and Gina of Rocky Hill, her daughter and son-in-law Irma Lange and John of Newington, her grandchildren Robert, Tricia and Gregory Kilian, her brothers and sisters Pasquale, Settimio, Pasqualina, Grazia, Filomena and Peppina. In addition, she leaves her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Julia Wiszniak, Janina Patykowski, Josephine and Walter Yanchak, Zbigniew and Ann Kilian, Bronislawa Kilian and Michalina Sokolowski and many dear nieces and nephews in U.S., Italy, Spain and Canada. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, 9:30 a.m., from Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Av., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be held today from 4 to 7:00 p.m., at Newington Memorial.
