Burial at Sea On 18 March 2023 at approximately 0930 (9:30 a.m.) at 25°44'58.2"N 80°06'44.5"W, Maria Sportelli (23 October 1942 - 23 January 2023) and her husband, Dr .(Chiropractics) Matthew A. Sportelli, (23 January 1933 - 07 April 2001), were laid to rest at sea together. Their remains were transported to the above location by Coast Guard Station Miami Beach's smallboat (45670).
