Not sure what to say?

It is because of Mrs. Widdis that I am in education today. She was tough loving and inspirational. I remember some great times in class!! What a phenomenal teacher!!

We lost a dear friend, teacher, and one of the biggest Tiger fans on the planet. She made indelible marks on everyone she met, not only by her force of spirit, but also by her humor and humanity. Many of us knew her as a teacher, but I know she was so much more to her students, friends, and family. She loved many, and few have ever been loved by so many as she. Though her departure leaves a hole in our hearts, memories of her fill our minds. What a fantastic woman she was. I will remember her...

I want to express my sympathy to the entire Widdis family and friends. I assisted Maria weekly with errands and housekeep for over a year and in that time I got to know a truly beautiful person, through and through. I will remember the laughs, the stories, and the actions of someone so profoundly giving for the rest of my life. Love you, lady!

My deepest sympathy to the Widdis family.

Maria bought the home on sibley from me, and we kept in contact for a number of years afterward.

She was such a pleasant and friendly person.

I fondly remember Maria's warmth and quick smile from high school. She was a dear friend at MMA. May God bless her family at this time of sorrow.

My deepest sympathies to the Widdis family. Mrs. Widdis was my english teach at Ottawa Hills High School in 1995 and 1997. She will truly be missed. I can't think of The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe without thinking of her. She was tough yet loving, she was truly remarkable.

Indeed my favorite teacher. I give her full credit for my robust vocabulary and appreciation of classic literature. She is the teacher who had a positive impact on my life. I will go ahead and give her credit for my son's awesome vocabulary as well! You will be missed! Also, I have to thank her for making me German saurerkraut!

Another great educator gone home. My daughter had her for English, what a great teacher and she loved her students. I will keep the family lifted in prayer. May God comfort the family and give you peace. Stay encouraged and keep looking up!!

Maria was a lively and engaging woman. Both of our daughters had her for English at Ottawa Hills and loved her class. As parents we always looked forward to speaking with her at conferences. She was a delight.
