I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. I spent many afternoons in the summer when my Mom visited. I was always fascinated with the large vegetable garden, and learned beet greens were delicious. I remember Mrs. DiStasio being physically beautiful and always smiling. We as kids got to go to the Carvel as it was around the corner off 71. I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I saw Dara at church Sunday and she told me of her passing. It has been 2 1/2 years now for my mom and it is such a great loss. They will be together now hopefully having some good times. I have wonderful memories of "Mother D" she was always so sweet to me. We had a great childhood of Sunday dinners and Christmas Eve's. Our deepest symphony on the recent loss of your mom who will be truly missed by everyone. I will treasure the personal memories of all the great times that we had in growing up. There wasn't a time that I can recall where Mrs. D wasn't there to support us.
