Hara, Marian 82 Sept. 09, 1929 May 18, 2012 No single person could completely characterize Marian Hara's life because she lived it so fully with so many different people. Marian's relationships were broad and varied, yet all of us share how her spirit was expressed through her huge smile and...

Not sure what to say?

Miss Hara showed me that a professional woman could be exuberant, athletic, funny, supportive and warm. I am a better teacher and human being because of her. My favorite expression of hers is " hustle your bustle." Sometimes just a few people can be the difference between "making it" or not. She gave me the confidence and support to succeed. Thank you my dear and wonderful teacher. Class of '67

For as long as I can remember, Auntie Marian was at every single family event. She was always such a fixture, always jovial and smiling. I always counted on seeing Auntie Marian and her presence will be greatly missed. I will miss her booming laugh and hearing her say, "you know what you've got to do..." Rest in peace Auntie Marian and know that you were loved by all.

Marian was a powerhouse! She was tough but loved us all and challenged us to be our best! Fly free Ms. Hara!

Funniest memory of Miss Hara was when I was a sophomore during gymnastics practice and she had said something to me and my response was "Oh Marion"! She gave me her look and then laughed. She was a great coach who cared about her athletes and students. What a wonderful gift we were all given to just have her in our lives for such a short time. I have thought of her often over the years. I was in the graduating class of 1982.

My sisters and I are sitting here together as we came home for another service and found out about our Miss Hara. We are Suzanne,Linda, Molly Yost, and she ws so much apart of our growth at WHS.
I was one of her athletes, who always strived to do better because she knew I had more to give, as a gymnast and a person. Her words of wisdom came in various ways, whether on the mat or with her wonderful laugh! She has and always be in my heart forever. Love, Suzanne Yost McCourt

Ms. Hara was an awesome teacher at Wilson High. She was funny, encouraging, inspiring and was passionate about her work as a physical education teacher. I loved her!!

When I have to answer a security question online that asks who was your favorite teacher there is and always will be only one answer for me, Miss Hara.

Auntie Marian loved her sports - laughed and had a good time playing or watching. She always asked how others were doing and made every event and activity more fun for all. We'll all miss the shy delicate giggle and her 1000 watt smile.

Auntie Marian was a joy to have around, I will miss her making jokes and giggling with her raspy voice. She was always so encouraging but also happy to give you a hard time, she will be missed.
