She was an inspiration to me and many Altrusans, she always worked so hard for our projects that supported kids & literacy and she did so with grace and humor. I am sorry for you loss!

Marian was an incredible person. She was honestly interested in people and was always there to help or just be a friend. She will be missed so much!

Mrs. Thackray was a wonderful "other Mom" of us neighborhood kids back in the 1970's and '80's. She was one of at least 5 wonderful Mothers that I can think of that helped out watching us kids of the 34th and 35th street block's. Our backyards faced each others. My mother(Ileana Wood) and Mrs. Thackray always enjoyed talking to each other back in the time. She will be missed.
