What an amazing woman, wife, mother, and neighbor! Marian and Gene lived just across the street from our Kimberly home. At that First and Sidney Crossroad there lived a lady whose love emanated throughout the neighborhood. It didn't hurt, though, that she dolled out cookies to keep us hooked on her kindness. Marian had that perfect smile that made every cookie taste like it was made at Van Thull's Bakery a block north from the Vandenberg house.

I am not a family member but when you were in their home, she made you feel like one. You never left hungry especially if you were lucky enough to stop by on chocolate chip cookie day. I'll take nuts in mine thank you. We got to teach each other some cooking tricks too. Everyone around her knew that they were loved. She will be missed but knowing that she is with Gene and Mark again warms my heart.
