It was a Common Night

On the last night that she lived,
It was a quiet, unlit night.
Except for the ticking of a clock,
Made time different afterward.
That others could exist,
While she must finish quite fast.
We waited while she passed,
It was a time of sorrows.
Too shocked were our souls to speak,
At length the sad news came.
And we patted the silver grey hair,
And touched the head at rest.
Our faith quivered to regulate,
Then lightly swept...

In Memory of Marion Florence Whatley

O happy hours we once enjoyed,
remembrance is a golden chain.
Sad and sudden was the call,
past her suffering, past her pain.
A flower the Creator of life gave us,
A wonderful mother, grandmother.
We all dearly love, and we miss,
Marion Florence Whatley.
Borne away from sin and sorrow,
to a calm, and peaceful shore.
Christ shall clasp...
