Not sure what to say?

Moving books around the house today and came across 03B. Upon finishing it years ago I went to see what I could find out about the author. This was before commercial online phone books and white pages and people lookup. Found a Mariana Gosnell in NYC and tried the phone number. She was very surprised her name, number, address and a map to her address were available on the internet. But she entertained my interruption and we had a nice visit for ten minutes or so. Said she was working on a new...

Mariana, I'm only half way through your book but I have a strong urge to dig out my photos of my own Luscombe trip.... Flanders Airport in NJ.
Destination: Key Largo Airport, FL. They're both gone now, as you are. That's the bad news. The good news is that you have left your book behind to keep the memories alive. CAVU as you look down upon us. Thank you!

So sad thank you for sharing your trip with us....

C.A.V.U. always.....

I picked up 03B at my mother in laws house in 2013. I was totally enthralled with the book, as in my youth I spent many hours wandering the local small airports as my mechanic/flight instructor dad, Roger Wogaman, plied his trades repairing or instructing in Luscombes, Pipers, Aeroncas, Ercoupes, Taylorcraft, and many others including even the soulless Cessnas. My favorite was the big radial engined "Gull Wing" Stinson Reliant that he owned with a partner for a few years after WWII. ...

I was reading Zero3Bravo for the second time, trying to get up my courage to do a long cross-country flight in my Super Cub, when I thought to look up your profile. Tears in my eyes reading of your passing, and condolences to all who knew you.

May your engine run smooth and the wind be on your tail...

No pilot could ever read 03B and not fall in love with aviation all over again, and fall in love with you, the wonderful light behind those beautiful tales of the sky. My heart goes out to your family; you will no doubt be sorely missed.

Mariana, you were an inspiration to me when I was just learning to fly. I came to aviation later in life at age 51, and as a result of reading Zero Three Bravo could hardly wait to make my own cross country odyssey by aircraft, visiting small airports and meeting people just as you did. I was able to do just that! Blue Skies forever.
