Marianne B. Abrams

I worked with Marianne in the mid-1980's shortly after she started at the BBA. I have many fond memories of working together in the office as well as in the community. I am so sad to hear that she passed and appreciate Meg calling me in VT last night to share this news. Marianne was such a mentor to me as a woman and a leader. Sincere sympathies to all friends and family.

I will miss having my Mom present in my life ...I know that she is forever with me!

Marianne and I were colleagues on the UrbanArts Board for a number of years. She was always full of news about Bostonians. What fun she could be! My sincerest condolences to her family.

Marianne was my mentor and role model in the heady days of the early Tri-Lateral Council, which she led with strength and grace. We met again through the League of Women Voters. In addition to her children and many friends, she leaves a legacy of activism and compassion.

Marianne had a genius for friendship, which she generously gave to many. Her spirit will enhance my life and the lives of many, even as we will miss her so much.

Thank you, Marianne, for being a part of my life and all of the kind words of wisdom that you kindly shared unselfishly with me. I remember all of our adventures, and I am always sharing our stories with my family and friends. My experience in Boston was a terrific one because of you. Goodbye, my friend.

Marianne was a treasure to Back Bay (and the South End) and appreciated so much by us all. She will be greatly missed.
