Marie Louise (Gendreau) Danis, 88, of Putnam Pike, Smithfield, R.I., formerly of Sanford Rd., Westport, MA died Saturday, August 2, 2003
at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence.
She was the widow of Leopold Danis.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late
Joseph N. and Marie Blanche (Tremblay) Gendreau,
she lived in Westport most of her life.
She had been employed by Fall River Knitting Mills for 45 years and was a member of the Women’s Guild, Bible Study Group and Senior Citizens Club of Our Lady of Grace Parish, Westport.
she was the mother of
Robert H. Danis, Sr. (wife, Pamela Ricci Danis);
the grandmother of
Robert, Keith, Kevin, Heather and Heidi Danis;
the great-grandmother of
Sam, Megan, Sarah and Jake Danis;
and the sister of Emile P. Gendreau,
Alice Martinville, Yvonne L. Beauchesne
and the late Joseph, Cecile and Armand “Bill” Gendreau.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Our Lady of Grace Church, Sanford Rd., Westport at 10:00. Interment, Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport. Visitation, Monday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
