Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to learn of Sr. Marie's passing. She was a warm, wise and inspiring presence here at St Francis Xavier University, where I worked with her on many graduate committees. I had the privilege of getting to know her well over the years, and I liked and admired her. She was generous, intelligent, dedicated, hard-working - and fun! My condolences to her family and friends.

Dr. Marie Gillen was professor of Adult Education and Chair of Department for more than 18 years at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia (1983-2001). Marie was at once a warm and no nonsense person--no mean feat! She was missed when she left StFX and ever more so now.

Marie inspired and mentored hundreds of graduate students in the Master of Adult Education programme at StFX University. Her legacy as an educator will live on.

Marie was a much appreciated and respected colleague here at St Francis Xavier University. Sincere condolences to her friends and family.

Marie was a cherished friend. My sincere sympathy to Marie's family.

I had the privaledge of being named after Sr. Marie aka Sr. John Raymond. She was also there for me especially after an immense tragedy. I know she is in heaven with the saints before her.

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
