DAVENPORT-Marie C Hamre, 90, of Davenport passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Genesis East Medical Center. Her final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 it will be a private family service. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
Marie was born on November 28, 1930 in St. Paul MN to Leonard and Florence Hamre. She worked at various Eagle Food stores in the Davenport area until retirement.
Marie was an extremely loving and supportive aunt and friend to many people. She will be sorely missed but we all have our wonderful memories of her for comfort now and forever.
Those left to honor her memory include her nieces: Christine Pate and Shirley Peterson (Rick) of Iowa City, IA, Sharon Troyer (Randy) of Kalona, IA and Karen Willey (Kevin) of Miamisburg, OH and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Esther Smith.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Genesis East Hospital and Genesis Hospice for their excellent care of Marie.

My deepest sympathy to all of Marie´s family. My grandmother was Amanda Larssen who lived next door to Marie on W. Pleasant Street. What a great neighbor she was to Grandma. Marie took Grandma many places and was always looking out for her. Many times when our family would stop over to see Grandma and there was Grandma and Marie hanging over the fence talking. What a wonderful and caring person Marie was! We should all have neighbors like Marie!!
