Read MoreI miss her so much I still wish she was around. Walter was amazing. I always walked to the house and learned so much, helped her in the yard helped keep her house up after Walter passed. I miss her a lot. She always told me to call her aunty, that´s how I always remember her. The food she made I still want today. I wish I learned how to cook it. Very loved

Marie and Walt were part of my father's extended German family in North & Northeast Portland. It brought back memories of my father talking about them years ago.
It will be interesting to now go back and read the legacy Marie left regarding the German families living in the Portland area.

We miss our Marie very much, it isn't the same without her at our meetings. We feel so very blessed to have had her for as long as we did. She did so very much for AHSGR. Yesterday would have been her "95" birthday.
